The older I get the faster each year seems to go. I can remember as a small kid summer break seemed like it lasted forever, and now I blink and summer is over and its already almost 2013. As I look back on some of the weddings that I photographed this past year I thought I would re-post some of my favorite images from the year. 2012 was a great year for Ann and I, and 2013 is shaping up to be ever better!
First up we have Shannon & Dominic’s wedding in Playa del Carmen Mexico and reception at the Rathskeller in Indianapolis
Next was Alex & Maggie’s June wedding at the Indiana State House and reception at the Indianapolis Hilton Hotel.
Michael & Rachel also got married in June! The wedding was held at St. Johns United Church of Christ, and the reception at the Indiana State Museum.
Mark & Dawn got married on the hottest day of the year (104 when the ceremony started) in a great backyard ceremony and reception with close family and friends.
Connie & Jeremy got married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had a great reception at Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis.
So, we continue on my series of blog posts that I never did from back in the fall with Meg and her Carmel Senior Pictures. I met Meg and her mother at the Butler Campus back in the fall for what we hoped would be a sunny and dry day for some senior pictures. It turned out to be cloudy and eventually rained on us. We didn’t let the weather affect us though, and got some really great senior portraits shot for Meg. She was such a poser (in a good way) and knew exactly what I wanted her to do without much instruction from me, she really made this session alot of fun for me. I love it when people are up for anything and aren’t afraid to let their personality show through, because after all, that’s what I am trying to do, capture who you truly are in your senior portraits. We wandered around the Holcomb Gardens area and found some really cool places for some senior portraits.
Told you I was behind on blogging right? Well check out some of the photos below of Justin’s senior portrait session. There are leaves on the trees. Its now the middle of December….so told you I got behind and busy. Anyway, Justin is a senior at Avon High School, and plays on the schools basketball team, hence all the basketball photos and Nike gear. We met up one evening to shoot Justin’s Avon senior pictures, not in Avon, but Plainfield, at Hummel Park. There are some many great areas in that park to shoot, and the creek bed is always changing so there is always something new to use as a background.
A few weeks ago Ann and I met up with Brandon & Erin to shoot some engagement photos out at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. While I have shot here dozens of times, I don’t think I have ever really ventured to far out into the newer 100 Acres area, so that’s where we went. I had a great time looking for new and different places to shoot as the four of us wandered around on a warm and soggy Sunday afternoon. Brandon and Erin were up for pretty much anything I wanted them to do as we wandered around shooting for their Indianapolis engagement photos. Ann and I are really looking forward to shooting their spring 2013 wedding! Be sure to like my Facebook fan page to see more of their images and to keep up with all the happenings in Dustin Allison Photography!
Wow…I have been a bad photographer, I have so many sessions to show you, and I haven’t been blogging like I should have been. A busy fall shooting and teaching schedule plus a week with no internet means that I have fallen behind on blogging. That is about to change though! Meet Michelle & Travis, they are getting married in the spring of 2013, and selected Holcomb Gardens to shoot their Indianapolis engagement photos. Michelle and Travis met at a party near Butler, so the area is special to them. Michelle and Travis were naturals in front of the camera, great smiles and looks at each other all night long. Onto the photos! Be sure to keep an eye on my Facebook fan page too, lots of good stuff gets posted there!
