Alex and Maggie were married June 2nd, 2012, and Ann and I had the pleasure to spend the day with them photographing the wedding.  Our day started at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Indianapolis where Maggie and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make-up done.  Alex and his groomsmen arrived to a different room a few hours later to get ready.  After several hours of getting ready for their wedding day Alex and Maggie were ready for their first look.  The couple elected to buck tradition and see each other before the wedding.  I love doing this, it sets up a special moment for just the couple (and an inconspicuous photographer) and makes for some great images.  This also allows up plenty of time to do all the portraits and family shots before the wedding so everyone can get right to the reception!  After Alex and Maggie’s first look we gathered the entire bridal party and headed to the circle only a few blocks away for some photos.  When we had exhausted out photo opportunities at the circle (including being harassed by some guy bugging all the wedding parts on the circle that day) we walked over the the State House where the couple would have their wedding ceremony.  We used to great architecture of the building as a backdrop for some stunning wedding portraits and group shots.  When it was time to start the ceremony Maggie looked stunning walking down the long stair case with her brother waiting at the bottom to escort her down the isle.  The ceremony was full of personal touches and stories about how the couple had met.  Alex and Maggie left the ceremony amidst a sea of bubbles in a horse drawn carriage (ask them about their near death experience!)  on their way to the reception back at the Hilton Hotel.  Alex and Maggie’s family along with the staff at the Hilton really know how to throw a party!  The reception was one of the best I have been to in a long time.  Both Ann and I said on our way home that evening that it was one of the most fun wedding receptions that we had had the pleasure to photograph in a long time.  The dance floor was constantly full of people getting their groove on.  Make sure you check out the side show below and then head on over to my Facebook Fan Page to see even more images from  Maggie & Alex’s special day!  Maggie & Alex, I hope these images help remind you how special your wedding day was and how much love your family and friends have for you!
