Cara & Clay were married April 27th 20113, and they obviously had Ann and I there to photograph their Indianapolis Omni Wedding. We got started early in the morning with hair and makeup for the girls upstairs in one of the bridal suites at the Omni Hotel. As wedding photographers, we have some of the best jobs, we get to see our clients on their best day, when all their friends and family are there to support them. While hair and make-up is getting done there are always great stories being told between the bride and groom and their closest friends, we get to hear all this and really get to see who people are. This has never been so apparent to me than while photographing Clay and his groomsmen getting ready and hanging out before the wedding. The guys were all hanging out in a conference room getting their tuxes on, and the conversation turned to how each of the groomsmen met Clay. Eventually the conversation turned to Clay talking about why he chose each of his friends as a groomsmen, and being really open and honest about how he feels about each of them. I could really tell who Clay was as a person from this interaction with his friends. While this was going on downstairs, Ann told me about some great conversation going on upstairs with the girls. This side of people is one of the big reasons why I love photographing weddings, getting to know people on one of their best days! Back on topic now…Clay and Cara chose to have both their wedding and reception at the Omni Hotel in Indianapolis, which made the day super smooth, we didn’t have to leave or travel anywhere! During the wedding ceremony, their were several moments where their pastor said something that really resonated with me, it was one of the most personal and moving wedding ceremony’s I have attended since my own. The dinner was amazing, and the speeches that followed didn’t disappoint either, both the Best Man and the Man of Honor (you read that correct, Cara’s brother was her Man of Honor) had great things to say about the couple and each person individually, there was alot of love in the room! The reception got kicked off with some great dancing and lasted all night long, the dance floor was packed all night. Ann and I had so much fun capturing so many great moments from father daughter dances, to guests getting into a dance circle with a toddler. I hope you all enjoy the photos and moments that we captured from Cara & Clays Indianapolis Omni Wedding.
